Basketball Stadium with BIM HVACTool

My stadium test case is progressing well. I’ve now completed an unsteady simulation up to 320 seconds using the buoyantPimpleFoam solver. The 21,000 attendees generate significant heat, causing the indoor stadium to start off quite warm. The ventilation system should demonstrate its ability to cool the stadium within a set timeframe, ensuring the cooling load is maintained and that the ventilation strategy works as intended.

This is exactly where building simulation, with a focus on airflow, excels—especially when the simulation reveals potential for significant reductions in airflow and the positive impact that has on operational costs.

In the beginning, I spent too much time tweaking the math, thinking I could speed things up, but it ended up causing more instability instead. That’s why there’s a bit of flickering at the start.
